Foodie Updates: Sebo Chef Slings Sushi In the Mission, KronnerBurger Nears In Oakland, and More

It's one of the quietest weeks of the year in San Francisco as everyone who grew up everywhere else slowly filters back to town. But we have a few little food news items to tide you over into the new year.

First off, fans of Michael Black, the sushi chef-owner of the recently closed Sebo in Hayes Valley, should be happy to know they can get some of his finely sourced and cut fish now for lunch at the new Local Mission Market, where he's officially signed on as fishmonger. He's doing chirazushi lunches twice a week, Monday and Wednesday, featuring a selection of sashimi over seasoned rice for $14 to $20, with all of the fish sourced locally. [Tablehopper]

Roam Artisan Burgers has just opened their third location, and first outside the city, in Lafayette. [Inside Scoop]

And, Pizzeria Delfina has just opened their much awaited location in Burlingame, their first outside of the city. It's about twice the size of their S.F. locations, right on Burlingame Avenue, and you can see the menu here. Next up: Palo Alto. [Inside Scoop]

Chris Kronner just spoke with Eater SF about his much awaited permanent location for KronnerBurger in Oakland. The one-year-old pop-up just ended at Bruno's in the Mission, and Kronner says that the Mission is "just not the same" as it was when lived in it a few years back, and after doing the pop-up the neighborhood "just didn't feel like something that I wanted to participate in any longer." Having failed to find a workable location for KronnerBurger in the city, Kronner now says he's excited just to focus on Oakland, where his undisclosed new location is somewhere off of Piedmont Avenue. Also, Le Marais bakery in the Marina, which opened in July, is already expanding in the same building at 2066 Chestnut. They're planning to do an expanded menu and be a full-service bistro at night, with a wood-burning broiler, along the lines of Bar Jules. Look for the expansion to be complete by the late spring.
