Hometown Girl Makes Good

Well, all we have to say is that it’s about time.

Local chef Traci Des Jardins won a James Beard award for Best Chef: Pacific in a food-star studded ceremony in New York City earlier this week. Des Jardins was approaching Scorsese territory, as this was her (deserved) 7th nomination for the award, and was up against some stiff competition: Michael Tusk of Quince was on the short list, as was Roland Passot of La Folie, Craig Stoll from Delfina and Douglas Keane, chef of Cyrus in Healdsburg. The nominees further prove that our fair city is a great eating town.

Jardinière is now in its 10th year and the overdue award is like icing on the cake for Des Jardins, who has been feeding this city well for the last decade.
