It’s Burger Time in San Francisco

It’s Burger Time in San Francisco

By

If you’re always looking for the latest and greatest burger for you to sink your choppers into, here are four to strongly consider adding to your list (and there's one that will potentially be free, how about that?!).

398 Restaurant and Bar

If your doctor hasn’t told you to watch your cholesterol recently, then I guess we’ll tell you about this new Union Square restaurant that is serving a foie gras burger since it’s all legal now. It’s not cheap ($27), but you get a seared piece of foie on this hefty burger (made with grass-fed beef), plus it comes with seared mushrooms and red wine butter. And it's served with their fries, which come out crispy and hot, just like they should. 398 Geary St. at Mason.

ABV

Have you had chef Kevin Cimino’s pimento cheeseburger yet? No? Whatcha waiting for? This awesome bar burger is made with quality beef, and is tucked into a housemade sweet potato bun, topped with a thick layer of pimento cheese and pickle slices. It’s all squishy and cheesy and a total deal: you get a quarter-pounder for $9, and it’s available until 1am, every night! Celebrate with a cocktail. 3174 16th St. at Albion St.

Marlowe Burger

You a fan of the famed Marlowe burger? You know, the one with a juicy and flavorful patty topped with caramelized onions, cheddar, bacon, horseradish aioli, and shredded romaine. If you don’t want to wait for a table at the popular Marlowe in SoMa, you can swing by the original Marlowe location on Townsend, which is now Marlowe Burger. Whether you want to come in for the burger (just grab a seat at the counter or communal table), or if you want to get it to go, the vibe is meant to be quick and efficient, and there are options for the kiddies too. Enjoy some wine or beer too. And hello, deviled eggs. Open Mon 11am–3pm, Tue–Fri 11am–9pm, Sat 5pm–10pm, closed Sun. 330 Townsend St. at 4th St.

Wes Burger

Every Wednesday at Mojo Bicycle Café, Wes Rowe concocts a truly evil burger to serve you at his WesBurger Wednesdays pop-up. How about the Wes-tern, with onion rings, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and mustard? Or one with balsamic caramelized mushrooms, Swiss, arugula, dijonaise, and bacon? Pray for the The Hot Wes Burger (pickled jalapeños, queso, fried onions). And then he does all kinds of tater-tots, from queso to carne asada. Come hungry. Follow along on Facebook for updates. 6pm–10pm. Mojo, 639 Divisadero St. at Grove.

Super Duper

There’s something to be said for a free burger, which is why we thought we should include the news that Monday, April 27th, 2015 is Super Duper Day. What this means is the first 100 people in line at each of all eight Super Duper locations will receive a free burger! And, new this year, the first guest in line at each location will win a $100 gift card for use at any Super Duper Burger location. Enjoy your burger. Various locations.
