Liquor.com's Favorite Books for Cocktail Lovers

Earlier this year, we did a roundup of the top 5 items for any respectable apartment bar.  Now, the folks  at Liquor.com are adding to that list with a roundup of books by their favorite writers and bartenders. Cocktail lovers, add these to your bookshelves.

Speakeasy ($25) by Jason Kosmas and Dushan Zaric:
Employees Only is one of the best bars in the country, serving expertly made classics and delicious new creations. The New York establishment’s co-owners Dushan Zaric (a Liquor.com advisor) and Jason Kosmas reveal their tasty recipes and mixology secrets in the innovative cocktail cookbook Speakeasy, which comes out tomorrow.

A Taste for Absinthe ($25) by R. Winston Guthrie with James F. Thompson:
Now that absinthe is widely available and legal again in the United States, it’s time you found out how to drink the anise-flavored spirit properly. Featuring gorgeous photos by Liza Gershmann, A Taste for Absinthe includes both the history of the “green fairy” and handy advice, as well as dozens of cocktail recipes from talented bartenders.

Boozehound ($23) by Jason Wilson:
From the potato fields of Sweden to the Hemingway Bar in Paris, read about Washington Post columnist Jason Wilson’s experiences traveling the globe learning about liquor. The book is entertaining, and the info is accompanied by a healthy chaser of acerbic wit and plenty of personal asides.

Left Coast Libations ($25) by Ted Munat with Michael Lazar:
Ted Munat and Michael Lazar take you on the ultimate bar crawl of the West Coast, from LA to Vancouver. Their new book contains short profiles of more than 50 top bartenders, plus 100 original cocktail recipes from them.

Punch ($24) by David Wondrich:
There are few people in the world who know as much about the history of cocktails as our advisor David Wondrich. His first book, the award-winning Imbibe!, changed drinks menus around the country. We can only imagine the effect that his new book, Punch: The Delights (and Dangers) of the Flowing Bowl, will have when it comes out in a few weeks.
