Silicon Valley Eats: Off The Grid Rolls Into Town (Plus, Pizza!)

Silicon Valley Eats: Off The Grid Rolls Into Town (Plus, Pizza!)

By

This week, Patxi's Pizza and Off The Grid's seek South Bay domination. Plus, Chinese food in Burlingame and bubble tea in Millbrae!

South Bay–based Patxi's Pizza opened its newest location in San Carlos this week, where, in addition to signature (and seriously delicious) deep dish pies, chefs will be slinging Italian-style thin crust pizzas, made using 00 flour and baked in a 900-degree oven.

Because you can eat pizza anytime, swing by Pieology, now open in Daly City. The SoCal-based chain is known for their design-your-own 12-inch pizzas and salads. Gluten-free and vegan options are available.

Also expanding to the Bay Area: Chatime, a Taiwan-based bubble tea chain, has opened its doors in Millbrae. Sample a variety of milk teas, fresh teas, "energetic healthy" drinks, and smoothies, with your choice of jellies and toppings (you can specify your preferred level of sweetness, too).

But no one is expanding quite as quickly as Off The Grid, everyone's favorite Bay Area moveable feast. Starting tomorrow, May 2, look for a brand new lunch market in San Jose, at Evergreen Village Square. This is the first iteration of OTG in San jose, and will feature a changing line-up of eight trucks including Los Tolucas, Brother Baby's BBQ, and Hongry Kong, along with live music from noon to 2 pm. Next Friday, May 8, find another new Off The Grid in Mountain View: This evening market is in partnership with the Computer History Museum, and will bring 10 trucks including SAJJ Street Eats, Cheese Gone Wild, and O Mi Ninja. The museum will remain open afterhours, and there will be live music, too.

Down in Burlingame, Full House Chinese Restaurantis now open on El Camino. In addition to being an excellent excuse to bring up the show's feverishly-anticipated return, Full House has an extensive menu of dumplings, noodles, fried rice, meats, seafood, and vegetarian options, all available for dine-in and delivery. Maybe you should order in and indulge in a marathon of Full House 1.0? Have mercy!
