We Wanna Be Friends with Local Brewing's Regan Long and Sarah Fenson

By

Local Brewing Company has been a long time coming. Sarah Fenson and Regan Long have been honing their homebrew recipes for years, based on feedback from Dolores Park revelers who sampled their beers and students who took their homebrewing workshops at Forage SF's Underground Market. They spent a few years practicing their chops on Thirsty Bear Brewing Company's system, and now they've just opened their own brick and mortar brewery and taproom at 69 Bluxome Street.

The brewing duo took some time away from their new space to answer a few questions.

1. You’ve been in SF nearly 20 years, how has the city influenced you?

San Francisco is known as a somewhat transient place—from the Gold Rush to today's tech boom—with people coming from all over to stake their claim. What that means for long-timers is a constant stream and variety of cultures, ideas and perspectives we'd be hard-pressed to find otherwise. This exposure has definitely expanded our world.

2. What neighborhood do you currently call home?

Mission Terrace. There are so many great neighborhoods in SF, and we've lived in several of them. Mission Terrace suits us just fine; it's one of the more hidden gems in the City.

7. What's your favorite place to go on a day trip from the city?
