Celebrity Craze: Bryna Nicole Handbags at Sundance

By

Push and Adventureland weren’t the only hits at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, held Jan. 15-25 in Park City, Utah. San Francisco designer Bryna McMills’ Bryna Nicole handbags found their own success among the stars during their appearance in the Sundance Gifting Suite (you know, the place where the celebs go to snag all the free swag they can carry).

Paris Hilton got cozy with the Bartol bag, while Devon Aoki walked with the Prentiss. Michelle Trachtenberg picked up the Hallam clutch, while Aubrey O’Day chose a yellow Rosemont clutch.

The biggest hit?

“Definitely the new Bartol bag. It has such a unique shape, different than anything out there but still totally wearable. This was the first choice among 90 percent of the celebrities that came through our suite,” McMills tells us.

Want to pick up a Bartol ($600) of your own? The spring 2009 collection will be available online by Feb. 15 and in stores by Feb. 28.

For Hubbs, who worked such long hours during her two-day stint at the independent film festival that she didn’t have a chance to queue up at any of the screenings, one of the most memorable sights took place not on the silver screen, but right before her eyes when Paris Hilton and her entourage descended upon the gift suite.

“It was unreal how the entire room just focused on every move she made for the hour-and-a-half that she was in the suite. Through it all, however, she seemed as calm and cool as ever, like it was any other day. And I'm sure, for her, it was,” says Hubbs.
