.meggie. Opens on Union Street
Late last week, girlie chic boutique .meggie. made its Cow Hollow debut. Opened by Petaluma native and jewelry designer Meggie White, the shop shows off White’s own lighthearted collection of handmade adornments alongside wearables from names like Erin Barr, Linea Pelle, lily and jae and Alternative Apparel.
A sunny, So-Cal vibe permeates the space outfitted in painted wooden furnishings befitting a surfer’s beach hideout for an overall feeling that White describes as, “shabby chic meets the city.” It’s a fitting showcase for the jewelry made by White, who launched her career in accessories two years ago after working in a corporate fashion house in Los Angeles and as a stylist for commercial photo shoots. Long gold-fill-chain necklaces punctuated with charms, semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals are simple and feminine, while oversized wire wrapped rings, delicate hammered hoops and bracelets decked in pastel freshwater pearls bring added drama.
Want the store all to yourself? No problem. White happily hosts girls’ night parties that come with discounts, small bites and styling sessions. Custom jewelry orders are also available.
