Richard Nicoll for Thomas Pink Collection

By

Thomas Pink isn’t exactly the first label that comes to mind when I think of on-trend women’s wear. Impeccably tailored shirts, yes. But silky shifts and flirty frocks? Not so much. The Brit design house synonymous with men’s fashion is taking a stab at changing that image with the launch of the Richard Nicoll for Thomas Pink Collection next month—a nine-piece capsule collection by the rising London designer and Central Saint Martins grad who was dubbed Best Young Designer at the Elle 2008 Style Awards during February's London Fashion Week.

Ranging from $195 to $500, the wool, silk and silk-blend pieces—one shift, three dresses, two skirts and three shirts–are worth checking out for their gorgeous range of fall colors (pewter, peacock, violet and taupe) and Nicoll’s telltale detailing (full draped bias-cuts and raw-edged appliqué trims). Look for the collection online or at the downtown San Francisco Thomas Pink store around mid-August.
