Two-Faced and Lovin' It: Alice and Isa Boutique Launches
With dual-minded Gemini ruling overhead and shopping local an ever-more-popular goal among Bay Area fashion fans, it may very well be the perfect time for the arrival of Alice and Isa, sucky economy be damned.
Built upon the notion (one we can agree with, by the way) that every woman has at least two sartorial sides she wishes to variously indulge and devoted to independent apparel and accessories designers living or working in San Francisco, this soon-to-launch online boutique from friends and fashion lovers Dawn Miller and Stephanie Belfiore promises a savvy mix of accoutrements for the kind of local gal who doesn’t draw stark lines between the Mission and Marina.
“Alice is retro, vintage, Isa is more modern. They both encapsulate that San Francisco vibe. A lot of us have a little bit of both,” explains Miller.
Those feeling the Alice vibe will find their sweeter, vintage-loving sides in hats by Jasmin Zorlu Millinery, baubles by Erin Hakansson and sparkling adornments from Jennifer Tuton. On another day, indulgers in the citified Isa side of life may step out in shoe-transforming spats by Ashes and Empires, wax-carved jewelry by Alix Bluh or a candy-colored handbag by 49 Square Miles. Just don’t be afraid to embrace Alice and Isa at the same time. When it comes to style, at least, it’s more than okay to be a little two-faced.
The retail site will officially be live by Friday, but those-in-the-know can preview store offerings on the site’s Facebook page and celebrate with the designers during tomorrow night’s AliceAndIsa.com launch party and shopping event at Modern Relics. Also on Friday, take 15 percent off online orders with the coupon code Launch at checkout.
Alice and Isa Launch Party, June 11, 7-9 p.m. at Modern Relics, 771 Cabrillo Ave., 415-422-0477. RSVPs are appreciated.
