Fauxnique

10/28/094:04 pm

Luxury, redefined—ODC artist-in-residence Monique Jenkinson, famous for her "transgender" alter-ego Fauxnique, will pose questions about shared notions of extravagance and necessity, the tyranny of comfort, addicitve properties of the ephemeral and more as she debuts Luxury Items at the Dance Commons. In response to the sold-out run of Faux Real, Jenkinson promises to bring back Fauxnique in the forms of Marie Antoinette and Coco Chanel. We'll say that vogue-ing is to be expected, but you'll have to find out the rest for yourself.

Fauxnique stars in Lipstique, one of several short films screening Saturday night at the Roxie.
