The first-ever eco-friendly film festival to roll through our city, the San Francisco Green Film Festival embraces the Bay Area's passion for environmental awareness and all things LEED-certified starting tomorrow, March 3rd. Get ready for the West Coast premiere of the legendary Werner Herzog's new documentary Happy People––A Year in the Taiga, incendiary films about the politics of food and the BP oil spill, a documentary following venerable author Margaret Atwood on her recent eco book tour (followed by a Q&A with the author!) and almost 70 more eye-widening films about the natural world we humans just happen to be blessed with.

The opening night gala, complete with a green carpet of course, takes place at the historic Bently Reserve in the Financial District, and culminates with a screening of Bag It, an exploration of our relationship with plastic, followed by local and sustainable food, sweets, alcohol and live Brazilian funk music! The Bently Reserve will also be the Festival Hub, where panels, workshops, parties and special screening will go down. Get tickets for the opening gala here.
