Saturday, May 18

Learn how to spin your pizza like the pros at the San Francisco Cooking School. The Pizzeria Pizza at Home class will teach you the basics of Neapolitan and California-style pizza. Not only do you get your hands dirty, you get to enjoy your hard work (with a glass of wine) at the end. The class starts at 10 am and costs $160 here. @ 690 Van Ness Ave. 

Monday, May 20

Got a craving for goat? Look no further than Boxing Room’s Whole Goat Dinner. The five course dinner features a whole goat from Rosotti Ranch in Petaluma. With everything from cracklins to goat’s milk cheesecake, this dinner is sure to satisfy. Sittings are at 6 and 8:30 pm and cost $100/person. Reserve a spot at 415-430-6590. @ 399 Grove St.

Ditch the wine and beer tonight, and savor sake. All the way from Marumoto Sake Brewery in Japan, president and owner Niichiro Marumoto will be giving a talk on Sake growing. Pair that up with a tasting and five-course dinner at Izakaya Yuzuki and we’re sold. Seatings are at 6:30 and 7:30 pm, make a reservation here. @ 598 Guerrero St.

Tuesday, May 21

Combine your hunger for words and a good meal at Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck. Author Andrew Lam will do a reading and guests can win both literary and culinary prizes for their participation. The dinner starts at 7 pm and tickets are $10 ($5 when you bring a dish!) here. @ SOMArts Cultural Center, 934 Brannan St.

Skeptics can't stop the nose-to-tail movement that’s taking over the country. If you’re curious to know more about the whole animal movement, head over the Commonwealth Club where popular chefs Chris Costentino, Ryan Farr, John Fink and Tia Harrison will give the details about all those cuts that make you squirm: Think calf brain, bone marrow, maybe some ear. Wednesday, May 22

Bee enlightened! Head over to The Cheese School of San Francisco for Cheese and Honey class. Learn from author, beekeeper and Red Bee Honey president Marina Marchese as she guides you through honey and cheese pairings. We couldn’t think of anything sweeter! Class starts at 6:30 pm and is $69 here. @ 2155 Powell St.
