Make those Mardi Gras beads sparkle a little brighter tomorrow with some authentic cocktails. To do the Mardi Gras libations up right, we're looking to's arsenal of recipes, taken straight from hotspots in NOLA and Rio de Janerio.

Mix these tomorrow night to celebrate.

Bayou Bloody Mary

    •    1.5 oz Vodka
    •    6 oz Tomato juice
    •    5 drops Tabasco Sauce
    •    3 drops Worcestershire sauce
    •    1 pinch Prepared horseradish
    •    1 pinch Celery salt
    •    1 pinch Ground black pepper
    •    1 dash Lemon juice
Garnish: Spiced pickled string beans, olives and crawfish tails
Glass: Pint
Add all the ingredients to a pint glass and fill with ice. Stir, and garnish with four spiced pickled string beans, two olives and four crawfish tails.

    •    2 oz Cognac
    •    1 oz White crème de menthe
Glass: Old Fashioned
Add both of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.

Hot in Rio

    •    .5 oz Agave nectar
    •    3 Chile pepper slices
    •    3 Lime wedges
    •    2 oz Leblon Cachaça
    •    1 oz Lime juice
    •    1 pinch Salt
Garnish: Chile pepper slices
Glass: Rocks
In a shaker, muddle the agave nectar, chile pepper slices and lime wedges. Add the remaining ingredients and fill with crushed ice. Shake, and pour (unstrained) into a rocks glass. Garnish with additional chile pepper slices.

Timmy’s Brandy Milk Punch

    •    1 cup Brandy
    •    3 cups Milk
    •    3 tbsp Powdered sugar, plus more to taste
    •    1 tsp Vanilla extract
    •    Grated nutmeg, to taste
Glass: Tall
Add all the ingredients to a blender and fill with ice. Blend for 20 seconds. Taste, and add more sugar if desired. Strain the mixture into four tall glasses filled with crushed ice.
