Four January Parties to Keep You Up All Night Long

Get ready for four nights filled with debut appearances and the anticipated launch of SF’s newest dance label, Four Sweaters.

The Pink Mammoth crew takes over Tutu Tuesday tonightfor their first party of the year. For those who have been out to the playa or to one of their fundraiser parties, you can expect that same high energy tonight in the depths of 222 Hyde. Moe Moe, JDubya and their guest for the evening, Ray Kang (Yoshitoshi), will break out some great tracks for the tutu tribe and anyone else who makes it out this evening.

Glasgow legends Slam return to the US after more than a decade away to play Public Works on January 11th. Known for playing London’s infamous Fabric, Slam has kept busy with parties and production for Soma Records in the meantime. The Soma Tour will also feature a deep and driving house set by H-Foundation (Hipp-E & Halo) to sweeten the deal. Greg Eversoul and Bones will kick off this long awaited evening.

Worst Friends headline an As You Like It party at Beatbox on January 25th. It'll be an epic night featuring the collaboration of Slow Hands and Tom Croose, who’ll bring that slowed down sound for all you heads out there. Supporting vibes come from Portland's The Perfect Cyn and Sappho. And, of course, we can’t forget our hometown boys Brian Bejarano and Rich Korach, who will get things started during a back-to-back set under the alias Jack Burton vs. Chi. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a very silly night out full of great music.

For several years, Yanick Rieffel and Zack Yakovlev have cut their teeth DJing as the duo Bells & Whistles on the SF scene. Drawing on their experience with both playing and hosting parties, along with plenty of time in the studio, the boys have embarked on a new musical project called Four Sweaters. They’re throwing their label launch party at Monarch, featuring the Suol Records showcase, and the SF debut of Daniel Bortz and Chopstick & Johnjon (pictured above). With a mission to propel dance music culture forward, they’re already off to a solid start. Warming up the decks will be Trev Campbell and of course, Bells & Whistles. The label launches January 27th.
