Gay Wine Weekend has hit the radar as an international wine event, with Australian wine icon Penfolds on board as a major sponsor. They're hosting a winemaker dinner with their luxury wine portfolio at the El Dorado Kitchen, located on the historic Sonoma Plaza; La Crema Wines hosts a winemaker dinner at internationally famous The Girl & The Fig restaurant; and boutique winery, B. Wise will host at Estate Restaurant. Beer giant Anheuser-Busch will also continue its long term commitment to the LGBT community with Bud Light as a major sponsor of Gay Wine Weekend as well.
The signature event, Twilight T-Dance, is an experience all its own - 400 men and women tasting wine in a private 150-acre vineyard and dancing 'til dark to modern club music, at the bucolic Atwood Ranch in the heart of Jack London's Valley Of The Moon. Last year's sunset was legendary and the party nearly came to a standstill as guests turned to watch the Sonoma Sky turn crimson over the lush green vineyards. You know if guys stop the cruising each other to watch the sunset, it's got to be stunning!
The weekend is rounded out with Sebastiani Vineyards hosting Cabaret Night with internationally famous SF Drag Diva, The Countess Katya Smirnoff-Sky performing in the historic Barrel Room and Sonoma Valley Lux wineries. Benziger and Imagery are underwriting the Big Gay Wine Auction & Recovery Brunch AIDS fundraiser for Face to Face, Sonoma County AIDS Network.
