Get Gym-Chic With Local Startup The Sweatbar

By

The power of a hot workout outfit cannot be overstated—the right top can both inspire minutes more gym time and double up for a night out. So when local e-tailer The Sweatbar launched last week with activewear as fit for a run down the Embarcadero as a dance-off at Harlot, we were on board to get physical. Eat your heart out, Olivia Newton John.

The Sweatbar's curated brands are both emerging and established mainstays, including Koral, Body Glove, Espalier, L’Etoile Sport, and Prismsport, with looks that will suit yogis and hardcore runners alike. We're particularly partial to those we could work under a blazer—and get away with it, like the back-baring Koral Jet Jumpsuit, Michi Antigravity Bra, and Duskii Zip Me Up bustier.

“We want to be the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night,” says founder Cheryl Baxter, who previous to The Sweatbar, was a mom who started her career in high-tech and finance. No need to change in between gym, work, and out? How efficient.

Check out the babelicious shots from the lookbook, shot right here in SF (and some in Santa Monica), in the slideshow above.  //  thesweatbar.com
