Gibson Opens in the TL
The art-deco inspired restaurant, Gibson, opened the weekend before last in the soon-to-be-renovated Hotel Bijou in the Tenderloin. At the helm is San Francisco Chronicle's "Rising Star" Chef Robin Song (Hog & Rocks, Central Kitchen), who has created a menu of quality-dishes at reasonable price points. Tasty bites include small dishes like classic eggs with caviar, charred cucumber with uni; and larger plates like carrots cooked in embers with sunflower, potato dumplings with broccoli, pine nut and fermented peppers, and Sonoma duck smoked over the grill with beetroot and blackberry. Cheers to the Publican, Repast and Present: Recipes and Ramblings from an American Beer Hall
Chicago's legendary chefs Paul Kahan and Cosmo Goss from the award-winning Chicago institution, The Publican, will be cooking a special dinner at The Progress on Thursday to celebrate the release of their new cookbook, Cheers to the Publican, Repast and Present: Recipes and Ramblings from an American Beer Hall. The set menu dinner will feature a crafted beer list from Chicago and likely oysters and pork. Mission Bowling Club X Standard Deviant Autumn Beer Dinner
Autumn is here. Celebrate in the best way possible - a collaborative beer fete between Mission Bowling Club and Standard Deviant Brewing. Celebrate Diwali at Rooh
The modern Indian restaurant Rooh in Soma will be celebrating the Hindu holiday Diwali, a festival of lights, from Thursday October 19th - Saturday October 21st. They'll be offering a special holiday menu with new fall dishes where guests can choose three to four courses and pair Indian whisky flights. DUM Monthly Dinner Pop Up
DUM, the Indian Soul Food restaurant on 24th St, is launching a new monthly dinner party-style popup series called Navya. Translating to "new," Navya is a mediation on different cultures and techniques that showcase local ingredients with Indian flavors. The five-course event with optional wine pairing will seat diners together at a communal table. Some standout dishes are are kale with scallop and tamarind, "ramen" with pork belly, egg, cuttle fish and lentils, and "BBQ" brisket with cilantro, mint, spinach, and Brussels sprouts.
