Good Deeds Rewarded: Free Admission to Disney

By

If you've always dreamed of visiting Disneyland in Anaheim--or its successor, Disney World in Orlando--but been deterred by the ever-growing and lofty pricetag, now's your chance to finally go...for free.

In its new altruistic "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program, Disney is partnering with HandsOn Network, a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities, to encourage people to give a little--time, not money, that is--and reward them for their efforts.

And getting involved is as easy as pie. Starting Jan. 1, 2010, Disney will exchange one day's admission to any of its parks for a day of service at a participating volunteer organization once the time has been logged and service verified by HandsOn. Applicable organizations include Habitat for Humanity, local animal shelters, food banks, churches and more.

Award tickets will be distributed throughout the year until Dec. 15. The purpose is to inspire a million people to get involved. And with a deal this sweet, how could you not?

See, it really is a small--and charitable--world after all.
