Sfgirlbybay's Stylish Seven.
Local design blogger Victoria Smith (you may know her best by her SFGirlByBay handle) begins her once-weekly exclusives, aptly titled, the Seven for 7x7, today. Correct us if we're wrong, but we suspect that her first post was inspired in part by the recent influx of rain-heavy clouds over our fair city. If being rained-in means getting to wrap up in her recommended vintage wool cape, then may the deluge continue.
This week Sfgirlbybay's Seven for 7x7, I'm all about the hazy shades of gray. Blame it on San Francisco's very rainy days of late, but I've been thinking a lot about the beautiful hues of warm and cool grays, and am finding them quite soothing. I'm perfectly content with a gray, rainy day, and I've been sharing some glorious grays on sfgirlbybay.com lately, so thought I'd share a few of my finds with you here. From chic linen pillows, to fun, DIY chalkboards, to funky vintage furnishings, I give you gray.
I want to wrap myself up and float through the fog in this beautiful vintage oversized wool cape (1) from etsy shop Allen Company Inc. Yummy and warm.
I adore this very Breakfast-at-Tiffany's–chic charcoal gray linen pillow (2) from another wonderful etsy handmade shop, Shop One Eleven. I love their styish Linen Bow Pillow (3), too!
Who doesn't love a chalkboard (4)? Always fun, even for grownups, and a practical idea for posting menus, favorites quotes and simple to-do lists. Learn how to make your own on Martha Stewart's website.
I love the moody, calm feeling I get from JKPhotography's TTV (through the viewfinder) photograph (5), finished with rounded corners and has subtle pastel colors.
Cleaning vintage French mattress ticking is an involved process, but online shop Euro-Linens does a spotless job of re-purposing the old mattress fabrics, and creating some sweet striped pillows and bolsters (6) from their stash of vintage tickings. You can also usually find them at the Alameda Flea Market, the first Sunday of each month.
I think I might be able to sit down and write the great American novel at this aged patina gray Farm table (7) from beautiful Seattle-based online shop Red Ticking.
