A label on a bottle of wine; a colleague's desktop calendar; the layout of an article. Good design can crop up anywhere, and it's impossible to know what it will look like until you see it, but when you do, you instantly know. For over 90 years, the American Institute of Graphic Arts has attempted to chronicle the designs that make you stop and look, and then look again; the crème de la crème of of the graphic design world, if you will.

2009 is no different, and in an effort to cull the best, they've opened up their competition to you. If you created and produced a piece of exemplary design during 2009, you're eligible to enter your work in AIGA's 365: Annual Design Competition. Entries will be reviewed by a jury of esteemed design professionals from around US, and winning submissions will be added into the institute's design archives and exhibited across the country. You've got until March 5th to enter, so gather up your best work and head here for details.
