Tiny Business Cards: What Gives?

By

OK, I know that saying this will probably make me sound like a giant square, but what is the deal with the tiny business cards making the rounds among “cool” professionals? At every single card-intensive event I have attended recently, when it gets to the inevitable swapping session, somebody—usually a creative type—busts out these micro-miniature cards. They’re about a third of the size of a standard business card and thus, by my expert calculation about three times as likely to get lost in the abyss of my bag. On one side is some nifty little graphic, and they’re usually made from glossy stock. But if you ask me, they’re a little too slick. And just so you don’t think I’m biased against the small, let me also say that I am no fan of the oversized or oddly shaped cards, either. Sure, they grab my attention (I think that’s what they’re meant to do) but then they just start to annoy me. And lest you think I’m the only one, here’s a whole article all about making a business card that works.
