Anything You Fancy at Eden & Eden

Usually sale items are relegated to some bins in the corner, filled with stuff that's more pitiable than pleasing. "A shirt with three buttons missing? Well, I guess it needs a home..." But not at Eden & Eden, where you can now find their entire selection of to-die-for home accessories (not to mention jewelry and clothes, but that's another blog) on sale for 25% off. It's called the "Anything You Fancy" Sale, and it's going on now through Saturday the 24th.

Up to 80% off at Design Public

One of the major downers to moving is getting rid of all the cool stuff you no longer have room for (ah, life-size David Lee Roth poster, I hardly knew ye). But when it's the offices of Design Public doing the moving, we all end up winners. The online store needs to clear some inventory before they ship out, which means sales at up to 80% for you. No Van Halen posters to be had, but there's plenty of good interior decor available, nonetheless. You can view all sale items in their Outlet section, and make sure to check back often as they'll be rotating stock every other day. Sale ends January 24th.

Don't Start a Fire Today! Don't Do It!

I know you’re tempted – I mean, it’s soooo cold outside, right? – but resist the urge to start a fire today.  Because it’s illegal.   Spare the Air Day is in effect until noon today – which means Bay Area residents are forbidden to burn wood or fire logs in fireplaces, wood stoves and outdoor stoves.  It’s a shame, because we’re kindof obsessed with all of these outdoor fireplaces featured in our sister magazine, California Home & Design.   But fires can wait – until tomorrow.

CB2 #2 Opening in Berkeley

Now all you Berkeley kids have another place to find inexpensive home furnishings, without having to schlep across the bridge for them. CB2 will be opening its second Bay Area store at 1730 4th St. this January the 29th. Expect to see oldies but goodies (like the phantom lamp) and new styles for 2009 (including the teepee dining table and spindle chair, both of which j'adore very much).

Yes We Can! (Decorate for Under $200)

I have a black apartment.  Meaning, I have an apartment that mostly has black walls.  It's daring, yes, but I think it works really well in my light-filled Victorian home.  It's also really fun to buy furniture and home accessories.  I have to be extra careful because, you know, my apartment is black.  One of my favorite rooms in my apartment is my home office.  It's got a lot of pop, and I spend most of my days there.  People always ask me where I bought the furniture and home accessories, so I thought I'd share some of my local finds with you.  The white wall stuff is the Algue by Vitra, and it's available at Zinc Details.  The

"Come Together" at the Curiosity Shoppe

There are always curiosities to behold in the Mission (thanks, crackheads!) but perhaps few as enjoyable as furniture designer Thomas Wold's art installations. A combination of furniture, lighting effects and various ideas the artist has been working on over the years, each installation is actually a grouping of the Wold's individual pieces. The official opening party for "Come Together: New Installations by Thomas Wold" is taking place this Friday the 16th from 6 to 8pm, at ye olde purveyor of all things delightfully curious, The Curiosity Shoppe.

Sale at Wynne Alex

Like sass and class? What about Hollywood Regency, but with a dab of San Francisco's laid back sophistication? Then you, my lovelies, need to head over to Pacific Heights to indulge in the sale that's currently going on at Wynne Alex. Everything in the store is 25% to 50% off. And all of the Oly Studio and Barclay Butera Home is 25%. No, I did not stutter. That's 25% off Oly Studio and Barclay Butera Home. Wow indeed! The sale goes until January 31st. Wynne Alex: 3085 Sacrament Street.

Vintage Curtis Jere at Monument

From Gossip Girl to Mad Men, Curtis Jere's iconic metal wall art is always prominently placed in the best interiors.  And now you'll witness the value of the original vintage pieces shooting straight up since Jonathan Adler recently started selling the licensed reproductions.  With that said, Monument has always been the one-stop-shop for all things (original) Curtis Jere.  Like the enameled wall sculpture of owls that are pictured.  Talk about a rarity.  They were designed in 1966 and the company was done with enamel within a few years (therefore increasing their value).  Currently available at Monument with an asking price of $1,400.

New Sunset Coffeeshop: Say Hello to Hollow

There's a cute new coffee shop in the Sunset, and though the decor inside looked scrumptious (this based on peering through the window) there didn't seem much fodder for design talk - that is until today. Thanks to Apartment Therapy for this article, which brought to attention the fact that the lovely home accessories spotted inside Hollow are actually for sale.
