James Franco Is Teaching Film at His Alma Mater, Palo Alto High School

In another bizarre move that proves no one can predict the actions of James Franco, the actor will begin teaching film at his high school alma mater this month.

As reported by ABC 7, Franco will be making the trip to Palo Alto High School for one Saturday every month to teach alongside Esther Wojcicki.

Wojcicki is the founder of of the school's Media Arts Center, where Franco worked as a writer for the school newspaper when he was a student back in 1996. They'll be selecting only 24 students for the eight session workshop, and local students have until Thursday night to apply for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This won't be the first time James Franco is headed back to his hometown. The actor comes almost every other year to speak and returned last year to paint murals based on photos from his freshman yearbook.
