For our column Jams We Love, we're turning you onto the songs that keep us going every day. We'll showcase a new playlist every week so you can start things off right.

1. Black Sabbath, "War Pigs"

The heavy metal legends are reuniting for a world tour in 2012 and recording their first new album (to be produced by the legend named Rick Rubin) in 33 years. They dropped this news-bomb on 11/11/11–I had a feeling that was going to be an awesome day! Crank up their classic "War Pigs" and celebrate.

2. Thee Oh Sees, "Contraption/Soul Desert"

We can't stop (and won't stop) listening to garage kingpins Thee Oh Sees' newest album Carrion Crawler, even though we're barely done with Castlemania, the album they put out earlier this year. While that one was a major–and awesome–departure from their normal m.o., Carrion channels the energy they spewed forth on The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In–perfect for destroying the Monday blues.

3. The Sounds, "Rock 'n Roll"

For me, listening to The Sounds in high school while driving myself to school was one of the great joys of life. Their juicy melodies and frontwoman Maja Iversson's come-hither vocals helped me dance out a lot of teenage confusion. They play the Warfield this Saturday, November 19. To get ready, jam out to this tune from their 2002 debut Living In America.

4. Jay-Z & Kanye West, "Niggas in Paris"

Say you're frustrated and need to pump yourself up for a day of back-to-back meetings, or you're running late on a Muni train that's completely full and keep getting elbowed by the guy in front of you. This Watch The Throne single can help exorcise your daily demons.

5. Kaskade, "Room For Happiness"

This isn't the best song on his Fire & Ice album, but we love it because it's classic Kaskade in that the song features the gorgeous and talented Skylar Grey, a familiar voice on his earlier albums–not to mention his ridiculously addictive, easily danceable, and deliciously simple beats.
