Bike-Loving Singles, Find Your Sweetie at Love on Wheels

Bike-Loving Singles, Find Your Sweetie at Love on Wheels

By

Any given Saturday at Zeitgeist or Gestalt will reveal one simple truth: San Francisco has a lot of bicycle loving singles. But have no fear, pedal lovers, you won’t have the last bike hanging in the bar stall anymore—or at least you have one good shot coming up to find your bike loving partner. Next Wednesday, February 8th, is the annual Love on Wheels event, the 1970s dating game for bike enthusiasts.

Join 300 of your fellow pedal-loving singles for a night of two-wheeled action, filled with more bike innuendo than you can shake a bottle of lube at (that’s chain lube, jeez, people). The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition hosts this Valentine bike love-in at Public Works and offers free bike valet at the Armory—a fitting spot for the night’s theme.

There’s still plenty of time to be a contestant or to just join the throngs of bike lovers egging the chain gang of singles on. So head over to Public Works at 6 pm for the sexiest, silliest bike-datiest event of the year.

If you want to be a contestant, send an email to love@sfbike.org and let the organizers know how you roll (girl-boy, boy-boy, girl-girl) and then coast your way to two-wheeled love. Winners of the event will pedal off for an all expenses paid bike-centric date. And heck, even if you’re not a contestant, chances are you’ll get a few phone numbers to stuff into your messenger bag, or, even maybe better, win the auctioned-off bike.

If you already have a honey, you can send them a free hand-drawn bike valentine by local artist Rachel Cassandra. Drop your sweetie a note and tell them that you really love them. I mean, that you “Wheelie Love them.” Ride on, lovers!

Love on Wheels happens on February 8 at 6 pm at Public Works, 161 Erie St.
