Here's what we're into this week...

Stuff We Like: Our Weekly Editors' Endorsements

Welcome to our weekly 'Stuff We Like' blog, where 7x7 editors talk about...stuff we like.

1. "Discovering" The Avett Brothers
You know that great feeling you get when you "discover" an author or musician that you love and suddenly you have their entire oeuvre to enjoy? That's the experience I'm having with the Avett Brothers, a band from Concord, North Carolina. Their latest album, I and Love and You came out last fall, but it's new to me—and just in time!

1. Out the Door Chicken Buns

There are few things that bring me more joy than a steamed chicken bun from Out the Door. If you think that's a pathetic statement then you've clearly never had these buns.  Lately, I've been smuggling them into the Kabuki for the perfect foggy-day movie snack. And word on the street is that the Ferry Building Out the Door sold mini chicken buns two weeks ago for $1 a pop.

1. Peaches from Kashiwase Farms

The best place to eat a peach from Kashiwase Farms is over your kitchen sink, where you can let the juice drip off your chin and down your arm. The organic fruit is grown in Winton, and they bring them to the market (Saturday Ferry Plaza and Sunday Inner Sunset) dead ripe, so you don’t have to exercise any patience. I plan to eat them every week until the season’s over.” -Jessica Battilana

Hot 20 Under 40: Reader's Choice Nominations Now Open

We're gearing up to select our 2010 class and are now accepting submissions for the Reader's Choice spot.

1. Mark Morford's Yoga Classes

Most people know Mark Morford as an outspoken, often-hilarious social commentator who writes for SFGate. But he’s also a kick-arse yoga instructor, and I mean he teaches the best yoga class I’ve ever done. It’s a vinyasa-flow class at Yoga Tree in the Castro on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:30pm. The room is huge (good thing, because it’s crowded), very warm (but not hot), and the poses are flowing and active, not beginner but definitely not super-advanced. And his music!

Stuff We Like: Our Weekly Editors' Endorsements

Welcome to the first installment of Stuff We Like, a weekly spot for us 7x7 editors to round up what we're into. Every week, we'll be taking our edit room talk to this blog, shelling out endorsements for our local favorites.<--break->

Here's what we're into this week:

Eventually, the sun will come out again. When it does, I will be armed with several bottles of 2009 Cep rosé. Cep is the second label from Peay Vineyards, and the rosé is made with Pinot Noir grapes grown in the central Sonoma coast.

PG&E's VIP Pride Party 2010

On June 24, LGBT leaders Mark Rhoades and Brandon Hernandez hosted an amazing Pride 2010 kick-off event at the Clift Hotel's stylish Redwood Room and Velvet Room! The event not only benefited New Leaf Services, but also served as a "thank you" to the many men and women who give their time and resources to the LGBT community all year long. Attendees were a veritable roll call of San Francisco's LGBT leaders, and participating sponsors included Ketel One, Don Julio, Stella Artois, Epi Center MedSpa, Al Smyth events, and Blueprint Studios.

7x7's Best of the City 2010 Party!

On June 3, 7x7 gathered some of San Francisco's brightest and brilliant stars to celebrate our picks for the best people, places and things in the city! Co-hosted by Ghirardelli Square and Fairmont Heritage Place, the event was blessed with absolutely gorgeous weather, while guests enjoyed stunning views of the bay and thrilled to the sounds of Best of the City winners Wallpaper!
