Marin Country Mart's Suburban Oasis
With a three-star review from Michael Bauer and Thomas Keller protégés at the helm, chef-owner Jeff Cerciello’s second outpost of Farmshop (pictured above) is easily one of the Bay Area’s best restaurants right now. In addition to looking posh (think teal mohair banquettes and Heath Ceramics subway tiles), the local, seasonal menu is swoon-worthy. Standouts include an appetizer of crispy artichokes and roasted Jidori chicken with a peach mostarda.
The independent bookseller is going the way of the first edition—that is to say, scarce. But Diesel is keeping the tradition alive at their fourth location with a highly curated selection of titles and high-profile author events.

Since it was acquired by Gap earlier this year, a Bay Area outpost for the New York-based chain Intermix seemed a no-brainer. A go-to for shoppers seeking trends high and low, the shop stocks such labels as Barbara Bui, Helmut Lang, and Chloe.
