The 4th Annual Artisano Grand Tasting

Make the drive up to Sonoma County for a celebration of wine, food and art. The 4th annual Artisano event will feature a Grand Tasting in the afternoon and a Harvest Dinner later in the evening. At the Grand Tasting, you’ll sample from local artisan cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates, and other culinary delights from gourmet artisan food producers. Listen to live music as you browse through artwork, watch chef demos and participate in a silent raffle auction to benefit the Ceres Community Project. The Harvest Dinner will start at 5 pm, and you can end the day in a soothing intimate setting of no more than 75 guests at John Ash & Co.Enjoy a family-style menu prepared by Chef Tom Schimdt and wines from the day’s Grand Tasting Event. Winterblast 2012

If you’re looking for a more family-oriented activity this weekend, head over to the SOFA (South A. St.) District in Santa Rosa on Saturday and join in on a street party celebrating the arts and community. An event for all ages, Winterblast will feature open art galleries and studios, local food vendors, a kids' zone, street performers, and live music from local bands. Free Community Sailing Day

Grab the kids and hit the open water in San Rafael for a day of family fun. Rain or shine, the Community Boating Center will be providing free youth and family sailing. If you get hungry, there will also be a BBQ and drinks located within the Loch Lomind Yacht Club. The event is free, but be sure to RSVP here so they know how much food to provide.
