Three Reasons to Cross The Golden Gate Bridge

Three Reasons to Cross The Golden Gate Bridge

With the weather heating up, especially across the bridge where they don't seem to plagued by pesky fog, there's no excuse not to spend at least part of your weekend soaking up some sun in the North Bay.

California Beer Festival

Imagine your ultimate summer day...chances are it involves an ice-cold beer sweating in your hand. That’s exactly what you’ll get at the CBF—coming to Novato this Saturday at the postcard worthy Stafford Lake from 12:30 pm to 5 pm. You’ll have the chance to sample from more artisanal and craft beers than you can count, including local favorites Lagunitas Brewing Company and Speakeasy Ales & Lagers. Add CBF's famous garlic fries and a whole lot of BBQ, and the afternoon seems pretty perfect. Tickets are $40 here or at the door.

Italian Street Painting Marin

Whether you think that you’re the next Picasso, or can barely draw a straight line you’ll find something to your liking this Saturday and Sunday at the festival happening at Fifth and A Street in San Rafael. It’s worth it just to see world renowned chalk artist Tracy Lee Stum create one of her Guinness World Record-winning 3D drawings, as well as other regional artistic talents showing their stuff. Tickets are $5.

Mark Hummel’s Blues Harmonica Blowout BBQ on the Lawn

Getting to Rancho Nicasio Restaurant and Bar past Fairfax may seem like an adventure in itself, but make a day of it and stop at Roy’s Redwood Preserve (the smaller, less touristy cousin of Muir Woods) on your way for a serene stroll. Then spend your evening at the historical Nicasio lounging, eating some quality BBQ and getting in touch with your Bluegrass roots all to the soundtrack of a wailing harmonica. Tickets are $20 here. Doors open at 3 pm, and music starts at 4 pm.
