Take a loop hike up to Mount Burdell in Novato this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with David Herlocker of Marin County Parks. Meet the rest of the group at the gate on San Andreas Drive in Novato for a hike through the awe-inspiring grasslands and alongside some of the oldest Oak and Bay trees in Marin. The climb is pretty steep, a whopping 1,500 feet up, but this hike will take a slightly less intensive route through fire roads.
Kick off Marin Baroque Chamber Choir and Orchestra’s first concert of the season on Saturday at 8 p.m. While touring Italy in the early sixteenth century, George Frideric Handel composed a ton of work, which will be played at the opening concert along with a concerto by Arcangelo Corelli. Life in sixteenth century will be the theme of the night, as the music will be accompanied by a storytelling of that time. Tickets range from $5-25 at the First Presbyterian Church San Anselmo.
The filmmakers of a new documentary, JFK: A President Betrayed, will be at the Rafael Film Center to screen the film and talk about it. This Sunday at 7 p.m. is when you can watch the documentary that reveals evidence that JFK’s administration allegedly did not support his efforts to get out of Vietnam nor did they back his secretive attempts to make peace with Castro and Khrushchev. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, this doc offers insight into how different the world might have been had JFK lived. Watch the trailer here.
