Jams We Love: 7x7's Weekly Playlist

Jacuzzi Boys

For our new column "Jams We Love," we're turning you onto the songs that keep us going every day. We'll showcase a new playlist every Monday so you can start the week off right.

Jacuzzi Boys - Glazin' by pillowjungle

1. Jacuzzi Boys, "Glazin'"

Eager garage scuzzlords repping Miami unleash their catchy, croony stylings all over their new LP Glazin'. They'll chop it up at Hemlock Tavern on October 2nd.

Rank/Xerox - S/T LP - A3 - Nausea by ROS RECORDS

2. Rank/Xerox, "Nausea"

This San Francisco band just laid down their first LP, which was recorded in Chinatown by Ty Segall and Eric Bauer, and we already can't stop blasting its incredibly angsty, high-strung cuts. These boys obviously used to headbang to The Wipers and Warsaw as teenagers. We can't wait for their show this Saturday at Hemlock.

3. Iggy & The Stooges, "Down On The Street"

We're still mourning the fact that Iggy Pop broke his foot and had to cancel the Stooges' two nights at the Warfield this week. This was just one of the songs we hoped they would rip through, from 1970's Fun House.

In The Year Of Our Lord by 7x7SF

4. Rorschach, "In The Year Of Our Lord"

Coming to Thee Parkside this Saturday, September 17, Rorschach is a venerable New Jersey band that blended hardcore, sludge metal in the late 80s and early 90s better than anyone at the time, thanks to their jarring chord progressions, thick, crunchy guitars and a vocalist who sounds like a rabid animal at the mic.

5. Thee Oh Sees, "Carrion Crawler"

I saw Thee Oh Sees play this newbie at a show in Oakland a few months ago, and I've been wondering about it ever since. The band just debuted it today, and its ominous lilt sounds like they're finally starting to crawl themselves out of the gloom they gleefully wallowed in on Castlemania.
