Pitchfork reviews BAYTL, the unlikely collaboration album between Gucci Mane and Oakland's V-Nasty, saying it's "a surprisingly competent and sometimes fun low-stakes rap album, far from the disaster it could've been." [via Pitchfork]
Sonny Smith announces a new project apart from his work Sonny & The Sunsets, called Sees All Knows All. It's a one-man story told in the form of a monologue, which he describes as "a tale of love, sex, drugs, spaceships, romance, hallucinations, bitter tears and champagne." He'll perform it himself with a backing band that includes Kelley Stoltz and Tim Cohen. [via Sonnysmith.com]
Jennifer Miro, the comely singer and keyboardist of legendary SF punk outfit The Nuns, passed away from cancer in New York. Her December 16th death was only reported on January 4th. [via SF Weekly]
Part Time releases a new 7" and a video for its A-side, "Visions of the Future." It's a super trippy peek at a man's sadness and confusion through a kaleidoscope. [via The Bay Bridge]
tUnE-yArDs performs on the second late night show with the word "Jimmy" in the title, performing "Bizness" and "You Yes You" on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Nice way to start off 2012. [via audioperv.com]

Upstart East Coast rapper Azealia Banks starts a Twitter fight with Kreayshawn after the White Girl Mob leader posted a link to Banks' new song via a porn website. Then Banks tweeted that she's the first confirmed artist to play Coachella 2012. Check and mate. [via Pitchfork.com]
