Local metal legend Matt Pike, (of the supreme Sleep and High On Fire) announced suddenly he's entering rehab (just a couple days after selling out the Fox Theater with Sleep) and pulling High On Fire off the Rockstar Mayhem Festival roster. [via SF Weekly]

Sacramento-born hardcore band Trash Talk(and known as one of the best live acts around right now)becomes the first outfit not in Odd Future's inner circle to be signed to Odd Future Records. Big news for this up-and-coming group. [via Pitchfork]

The FCC approved the transfer of the nobly struggling KUSF's broadcast license to the Classical Public Radio Network, which is operated by USC. It's unclear if KUSF is to become a classical-music-only station, but we're crossing our fingers that it won't anyway. [via USF]

Lilac releases their tripped out video for the gorgeously forboding "Shame," off their new LP Christine. [via Garbage Dress]

Two Gallants announce the release of their first album in five years, called The Bloom and the Blight, after a three-year hiatus and a solo album from each of its members. Check out the new single "Bedroom Eyes" too [via SF Weekly]
