Former Girls frontman Christopher Owens returns to the fold with new tracks from his ucoming solo debut, Lysandre (Turnstile Records). And its subject matter is rather juicy: The album's named for a girl he met whilst in France for a festival performance on Girls' first-ever tour, and is written, recorded and sequenced as a complete narrative. New Bay Area resident Chaz Bundick ofToro Y Moiannounced dual, bi-coastal listening parties of his much-anticipated new album, Anything in Return, in New York and San Francisco. It'll take place here at Public Works' Roll Up Gallery, where you'll find 13 original drawings by Chaz Bundick display, each paired with a corresponding song from the album that fans can listen to via Incase headphones. Best of all? It's free. [via email PR land]

They're donating 100% of the proceeds from this  7" to the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1 Save the Music (double impressive!) [via Bandcamp.com]

Bay Area-based Yalls, helmed by Dan Casey, just posted a massive avalanche of quality remixes. He touches songs by everyone from The xx to Teen Daze to Sonny & The Sunsets–you can download it here. [via The Bay Bridged]

At a Fox Theatre show we attended on Wednesday, rapper A$AP Rocky brought out the big guns in the form of local heavyweights E-40 and Too $hort, who performed "Dump Truck" from their new double LP, which comes out November 6th. Minds were truly blown. [via All Shook Down]

We haven't heard much from Stockton dudes Surf Club, but they're back with a guitar-driven new single "Reverie," which sounds pretty much exactly what the title says. [via The Bay Bridged]
