Win Tickets to SFLINKS@SFJAZZ Benefit Concert Featuring Jason Moran!

By

The history of jazz runs deep in San Francisco and if you haven't experienced the art form in the house that was built specifically to present and preserve it, here is the perfect opportunity.

On Sunday, November 24, the final day of Jason Moran’s residency at SFJAZZ, he is joined by a pair of intergenerational jazz giants who made indelible marks on the art form: pianist Randy Weston and saxophonist Billy Harper. Moran is one of the most acclaimed musicians in modern jazz (Rolling Stone called him "the most provocative thinker in current jazz). NEA Jazz Master and 2011 Guggenheim Fellow Weston brings a heavy African influence to his work as a pianist, composer, and innovator. Impassioned saxophonist Harper manifests the legendary greatness of John Coltrane. The three on stage together promises to be a night of grandeur.

Presented by the San Francisco Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the concert will continue the SF Links' tradition of promoting jazz as an American art form, an inclusive and healing genre of music passed on from generation to generation. An intergenerational event, SFLINKS@SFJAZZ will be hosted by nationally acclaimed and award-winning journalist and author, Belva Davis. Proceeds from this concert will benefit SFLinksConnect - Building Healthy Communities Together, our signature preventive health and wellness campaign, in partnership with community organizations serving San Francisco neighborhoods and communities.

Jazz is medicinal, holistic and pure, and creates a sense of calm and well-being that pleases the heart and nourishes the soul. We know you won't want to miss this rare afternoon to encounter jazz's spell, so we have a pair of tickets for one lucky winner! All you need to do is sign up for our newsletter (below) by Thursday, November 21 at 5 p.m. and we'll choose one winner at random. The winner will be notified via email. (If you don't win, you can still buy tickets here.) Good Luck!

Sunday, November 24, 2 p.m. sparkling wine reception, 3 p.m. performance.
