Music + Nightlife
Seasoned Outside Lands warriors know that festival life means juggling a million things at once, from winter gear to shield yourself from the bitter cold, to cameras, phones, earplugs, blankets, band-aids for blisters...not to mention finding a way to fit ever-imperative food and drinks into the mix.
YES. Outside Lands is here, reverent party people. But if you’ve got your ticket, we’ll assume you’re plenty aware of how much fun is in store this weekend at Golden Gate Park.
As if Outside Lands wasn't enough of a doozy on its own, their special night shows take the weekend of August 9-11 to the next level. From King Tuff to The Tallest Man on Earth to Vin Sol, they feature some of the hottest acts at this year's festival–including PayPal's very special presentation of psych-pop party-starters Yeasayer.
This town knows music. On any given night, you can find whatever genre you're jonesing to hear, sing, or dance along with. Here's a taste of what happened in the San Francisco music scene the past seven days...
Summertime in San Francisco, weather-wise, means never-ending phyllo dough layers of fog carpeting the city. Music-wise, it means even more topnotch techno talent gracing us with their presence. No matter if your taste in dance music runs more brain-tingling or more foot-stomping–this edition of the Party Blotter has something for you. See you on the dancefloor!
Weekends are for amateurs. Weeknights are for pros. That's why each week Stuart Schuffman will be exploring a different San Francisco bar, giving you the lowdown on how and where to do your weeknight right. From the most creative cocktails to the best happy hours, Stuart's taking you along on his weeknight adventures into the heart of the City's nightlife. So, who wants a drink?
There’s a perverted ghost that haunts the Presidio Social Club.
Deep breaths. This past weekend was extremely emotional for the nostalgically inclined. Postal Service at the Greek. Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake at Candlestick. Weezer at America’s Cup Pavilion.
