Mountain Winery Ticket Giveaway

Have you seen this place? It's like Shoreline-light, but with WAY better sound, service, and quality acts coming through. Did we mention it's on well, a winery, so tastings are abundant? How could you go wrong? If you thought this Saratoga hot-spot was for those past your age bracket, you would be so, so very wrong. They have some of the most nostalgic classics stopping by their intimate venue this summer (full Mountain Winery schedule here). And because we love our newsletter subscribers and think they deserve to chill out to some throw-back tunes while sipping vino, we're giving away pairs of tickets to the indicated shows below. Sign up for our newsletters on our homepage and add a comment below telling us why you'd love to go to a show.

Here's what we've got:

1 pair to Erykah Badu on 6/19
1 pair to Brandi Carlile on 6/26
1 pair to Avett Brothers on 7/1
1 pair to Court Yard Hounds on 7/20
1 pair to Ziggy Marley on 7/15
1 pair to Cyndi Lauper on 8/17

And here are our personal favorites of the lineup. Buy tickets the normal way here.

June 18: Imogen Heap - Frou Frou member and British songstress, Imogen Heap, has produced just 3 albums of her own, yet every one is loaded with big, originally-crafted sounds and innovations. Her bizarre style makes her infinitely interesting.

June 19: Erykah Badu - Having personally seen her a number of times, Ms. Badu, the reigning Queen of R&B and Neo-Soul, knows how to work a stage. She's a sassy little thing with an eye for detail and absolutely zero fear in the creative department (see: her latest video for "Window Seat," that caused an uproar with the Dallas Police Department).

June 22-23: Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers - Bet'cha didn't know Steve Martin was good for more than just his comedic genius. Yep, it's true. He's a damn good banjo player as well.

July 1: The Avett Brothers - A personal highlight of the summer, we're suckers for their brotherly love. The Avett Brothers' newest album I And Love And You has only increased their sizable following.

August 10: Blondie/ The B52s - If you're not sure who this is, you probably weren't paying close enough attention to the music scene in the mid-'70s, early '80s. Definitely a nostalgic must-see.

August 11: Huey Lewis & The News - Ok, c'mon people. They're SF locals responsible for some of the most entertaining fist-pumping power tunes of the late '80s, early '90s.

August 17: Cyndi Lauper - Because occasionally we long for the neon-colored unitards, big hair, scrunchies, and Cyndi bumping on our old-school tape-player. No? Is that just us?

August 19: The Swell Season with Black Francis - We just can't resist a guest appearance from any Pixies-member.

August 27-28: Chris Isaak - Another gigantic Bay Area success story. This loveable sweetheart has acted and wrote songs to employ himself (very lucratively we might add) through the last few decades.

September 27: Daryl Hall and John Oates - Hall & Oates wrote early pop classics. Songs like "Maneater" and "Private Eyes" have been covered and re-covered by many of today's biggest pop stars, among many others.
