New e-Bike Touring Company Opens in Napa
A new e-bicycle touring company has opened in the Napa Valley. Change of Greenery, based at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa, provides an eco-friendly option to the popular pasttime of winery-touring with its fleet of electric cycles. Yes, this means that pedalling is an option, for those who don't mind a little exercise with their wine, but there's also "throttle" mode, which means you can reach speeds of up to 18 mph without exerting one bit of leg effort (the 250-watt motor and lithium-ion battery do all the toiling for you). The company provides riders with a free map detailing four different itineraries around the Valley, free pick-up of bottle purchases and a free Green Card, which provides access to hidden specials and discounts at more than 30 participating wineries and businesses like Three Twins Ice Cream (15 percent off) and Domaine Chandon (two-for-one champagne tasting). Since you don't need a driver's license to operate the two-wheelers, all you really need is to know how to ride a bike. And you know what they say about that. (What do you mean you don't know? They say you never forget. How to ride a bike. Sheesh.)
