Into obscure films, giant monsters, drinking beer and talking about cryptozoology? Then cancel your weekend plans, this event is for you.

The nation's first Bigfoot Bonanza, a three-day party and film fest, is happening March 10 to 12 at the Balboa Theatre in San Francisco. Bigfoot researchers from all over the country will be in attendance for panel discussions and screenings of classic Bigfoot, Yeti, and Swamp Monster movies and documentaries. The lineup includes renowned Bigfoot researchers Cliff Barackman, Kathy Strain, and John and Montra Freitas; members of the Ultimate Female Bigfoot Team; as well as independent filmmakers Craig Flipy and Seth Breedlove.

The Bigfoot Bonanza will kick-off with an opening-night reception on Friday, March 10, featuring live music from Hiroshi Hasagawa's Poontang Wranglers jug band, gourmet tacos from Tacos Oscar, and refreshing brews from Fort Point Beer Company.

If you're lucky, Bigfoot himself will make an appearance. Make sure you've got camera cued up and your sneakers on—you may be able to capture some photographic evidence while you're running for your life.
