Q: We do not treat our 5-year-old Maltipoo for fleas - and he never has problems. Recently though, we visited another household with two other dogs, both treated with flea medication. After a day-long visit, our pooch had fleas all over him and the other dogs were still flea-less. Why did that happen?

SF SPCA Kittens & Puppies Are Unveiled at Macy's

This evening, we went behind the scenes, thanks to the SF SPCA, of the unveiling of the Macy's holiday windows featuring adorable, adoptable kittens and puppies. Last year, over 300 dogs and cats were adopted during the holiday season thanks to this collaboration, and over $70,000 was raised to support the efforts of San Francisco's SPCA. Let's rally together to make it even more successful this year!

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Why? Because dozens of adorable, adoptable puppies and kittens from the SF SPCA are about to fill the holiday windows of Macy's Union Square.

Dozens of onlookers will be oohing and aahing at these little furballs–but if you're in the market for a new four-legged friend in your life, you can beat the holiday rush by taking a gander at the kittens and pups who need homes now (and there are a lot of them!) at the SF SPCA Adoption Center. New pups and kittens are available each and every day, so you'll never be at a loss for eye candy and prospective new best friends.

On September 24, San Francisco's pet-izens hopped, trotted, flew and sauntered to Patricia's Green, the lovely strip of park in Hayes Valley on Octavia between Hayes and Fell, for SF DOGMA, a day to explore local arts, crafts and businesses—and to celebrate our city's uniquely dedicated love for our pets!
