Come Celebrate Local Businesses, Pet Adoptions & a Pet Talent Show at DOGMA in Hayes Valley!

Yeah, it's only Monday, but we're already thinking about the weekend. Why? Because thanks to the SF SPCA's bustling DOGMA street fair and pet talent show coming up on September 24 in Hayes Valley, it's going to be a heck of a good one. It's the perfect way to get outside and support local businesses and pet adoptions. So come on down and bring your dog, cat, lizard, rat, bird or guinea pig (any beloved critter in your life!) along to enjoy the day.

DOGMA Pet Poll Finalists: Who Repped Their 'Hood the Best? Vote Now!

Thanks to you, our dear readers, we were inundated this past week with hundreds of photos of your beloved pets faithfully repping their city for our SF SPCA-sponsored DOGMA street fair coming up next week on September 24th. It was tough narrowing them down but in the end, we chose pets that best stood for the glory of each of their neighborhoods. Most submissions were dogs, yes, but we've got a few kitties in there for all your feline fans too! Now it's up to YOU to vote for your favorite. Who most fiercely repped their 'hood?

Calling All Pet Lovers! Submit Your Pet to Our DOGMA Photo Contest

If there are two things we love most here at 7x7, they're San Francisco (and all its colorful 'hoods!) and animals of all shapes and sizes. Anytime the two worlds collide, it really gets us going. That's why we're proud to help our friends at the SF SPCA present DOGMA, a bustling Hayes Valley street fair and pet talent show on September 24th celebrating pet adoptions and local businesses. To kick things off, we're starting a photo contest featuring pets repping their neighborhoods.

Explore SoMA with Your Dog at Yapsie's PupCrawl

For those of you bummed you can't take your best friend in the whole wide world (your faithful pup!) to Outside Lands, fear not–there's still a way for you and your furry comrade to tap into some fun this weekend. Head to SoMA for this summer's second Yapsie Pupcrawl, in which you and a group of like-minded doggie enthusiasts go on a kind of pubcrawl beyond just bars (oh, but there will be bars!) to explore the 'hood on a micro level, be outside and connect face to face, mano a mano, with other pet owners.

Help the SF SPCA Raise Funds for Rescue Dog Alpha's Heart Surgery

As we move into the weekend, many of us will be enjoying time with our friends and families. We at the SF SPCA will be closely monitoring the recovery of a sweet-as-pie 2 year old shepherd named Alpha. Alpha came to us with a litter of puppies, all of whom have found loving homes. But shortly thereafter, we discovered that Alpha had a congenital heart defect that would be life threatening if not corrected.
