Take a Mother's Day Hike & Picnic at Tennessee Valley Cove

By

Looking for a good alternative to waiting in long brunch lines this weekend? We've got the perfect (last minute) idea to celebrate Mom. Pack up the car and head just north of the Golden Gate for an easy hike to a secluded picnic on the beach.

The Tennessee Valley Trail is a fun 3.4-mile round trip hike that turns around at Tennessee Valley Cove. The hike itself is easy, and takes you through green hillsides, wetlands, and eventually ends at a beautiful beach.

The beach is secluded, surrounded by stunning cliffs, and it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a nice picnic. Even if there are a lot of other people around, there's plenty of room for you to find your own peaceful slice of sand.

If you're feeling more adventurous, there are multiple trails and overlooks in the area to explore. Sounds pretty great, right?
