Pop-Up Magazine "Issue 4" Tickets Go on Sale This Thursday

By

Tickets for Pop-Up Magazine's just-announced 4th performance will go on sale this Thursday at 12 pm. The last go-around sold out in less than an hour, so we'd recommend setting a reminder to snatch some up.

For those of you who don't know what Pop-Up Magazine is all about, meander over to our last-October write-up on the phenomenon. The concept is basically a magazine-turned-performance, with short pieces up front, longer features at the end. It's the brainchild of Douglas McGray, Pop-Up's "editor-in-chief" and contributor to both This American Life and The New Yorker. "Issue 4" is going down at the Herbst Theatre on Thursday, September 9th and will feature an all-star lineup including bestselling author Mary Roach, acclaimed photographer Jim Goldberg, public radio stars The Kitchen Sisters, Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Amanda Micheli, novelist (and one of the New Yorker's 20 best fiction writers under 40) Yiyun Li, writer and performer Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Rolling Stone correspondent Tim Dickinson, New York Times Magazine writer Jon Mooallem, Youth Radio news director Nishat Kurwa, photographer Dwight Eschliman, author and farmer Novella Carpenter, artist Jason Polan, New America Media's Sandip Roy, gadget guy Steven Leckart and many more.

Needless to say, if you're lucky enough to snag tickets, you'll be in the company of some serious brain power. There will also be a party to follow, where audience and performers can grab a drink together and soak up some knowledge.
