SCENE:
Tourists, farmers-market browsers, and locals enjoying the Monday- and Thursday-night happy hours can all be found at the wraparound bar here, as oysters get shucked at breakneck speed. On sunny days, picnic tables are available outside, and the spectacular Treasure Island view is included free of charge.
EATS:
Oysters from Hog Island’s farm in Tomales Bay come in all sizes and preparations. When you sit down, order a bottle of the Marsannay rosé and a dozen Sweetwaters to slurp up with a spicy mignonette made with rice-wine vinegar, shallots, jalapeno and cilantro. The first-rate, shell-in clam chowder is delicate and brothy.
