Scenes of the City: Elizabeth Street Brewery

Scenes of the City: Elizabeth Street Brewery

By

SF Beer Week starts this week with all sorts of festivities in celebration of brewing and beer. We caught up with one of SF's lesser-known breweries, in the outer reaches of Noe Valley, Elizabeth Street Brewery.

Since 2003, Richard Brewer-Hay has opened the brewpub/home to many a beer enthusiast, and much of the neighborhood, to share his award-winning (1st place 2010 World Beer Cup) home brews for free. Yes, for free!

I hung out with the Brewer-Hay family recently to observe and photograph Richard’s backyard passion of brewing, tried some beer, and posted up in the downstairs brewpub.

Wanna try some? Follow Elizabeth Street Brewery on Twitter and watch out for the beer tweets.
