The one and only Heath Ceramics once again hosts its annual Open Studios event. Visitors to the San Francisco and Sausalito shops can get a taste of tile glazing, explore the history of Heath, and peruse current projects and collections. Both the Sausalito and San Francisco Open Studios will have factory tours and the San Francisco event will also put community and studio spaces on view. What's more, all in-store purchases during the Open Studios will be 15 percent off! Open Studios are from May 10 to 12, 400 Gate Five Road, Sausalito, and 2900 18th Street, San Francisco.

The design firm Rebar has created a new installation called Kaleidoscape, which will be on view at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAM/PFA). Known for looking at public space in different and new ways, Rebar has set to build a piece of art that doubles as a colorful modular sculpture and a piece of furniture. Kaleidoscape, which is made up of 60 separate pieces and will be located in the museum's 7,000-square-foot central atrium, can be used to study, relax, or socialize  and can also be rearranged in all sorts of different configurations. Opens May 12 and runs through late 2015, 2626 Bancroft Way.
