SF Street Style: Blue Pants + a Great Big Smile in the Marina

SF Street Style: Blue Pants + a Great Big Smile in the Marina

By

Meet Jenny Bronstein, a Bay Area native turned sun-loving Santa Monica gal. After meeting her last week in the Marina, we're now inspired to smile bigger, laugh louder and be more fabulous. The busy corporate event planner, may have settled down the coast, but she's still a Bay Area girl at heart and always makes time for (shopping-filled) SF getaways.

What she's wearing:  Cream button-down blouse from J. Crew; Royal blue J Brand jeans from Barneys; Ray Ban aviator sunglasses from Nordstrom; Fendi monogram canvas bag purchased from Saks Fifth Avenue, Layered necklaces from Arm Candy in Santa Monica; Michael Kors Oversized Runway Watch in gold; David Yurman braided bracelet from Neiman Marcus; Energy Muse "Manifestation" and "Lotus" bracelets gifted from mother; Brown strappy Eva & Joe sandals from Off Broadway Shoes.

No accessory beats having a great smile. Jenny's is infectious and completes her look. Also, read about Jenny's amazing hair secret below!

Jenny says deep blues, cream, grey and black are her favorite colors to wear, and she likes to pair them with touches of gold.

7 Style Questions for Jenny:

1. Where's your go-to place to shop in SF?

I love all of the boutiques around Fillmore and Union! That's where you found me, after all. My favorite way to shop is to just start by window-shopping.  I tend to find my favorite things when I'm not looking for them. I also love Barneys though -- that's probably my single favorite store in any city.

2. If had to choose only one would it be shoes or jewelry?

Anyone that knows me knows that I have an obsession with shoes, but they also know that it pales in comparison to my obsession with jewelry and accessories! I can't leave the house without at least one piece on...but it's usually more like three or four. I just love that a single necklace or pair of earrings can completely transform an outfit and give it an entirely new attitude or personality.

3. What would you call a major fashion fail?

Wearing heels with bathing suits, and UGGs anywhere outside the house (unless you're in the mountains...or just picking up your mail).

4. Which designers make you feel the super fabulous?

I love absolutely everything by Diane von Furstenberg. Parker has amazing blouses. 3.1 Philip Lim is always unique but wearable. Vince and ALC have really amazing staples that always look fresh and current.  J Brand and Rag and Bone brands for pants. I also love Yves Saint Laurent pumps in every color and Chanel bags -- they are classic, timeless and can make even a pair of jeans and white t-shirt look fashionable and sophisticated.

5. What's your most prized possession?

A purple suede clutch with a gold chain that my grandmother passed down to me as a little girl.  She used to wear it around town when she was my (current) age and then gave it to me to have as an addition to my little girl dress-up collection.  A few years ago, as I was going through things in storage, I re-discovered it and realized what an amazing vintage piece I had on my hands -- and one with sentimental value. Now it's a staple in my clutch rotation, so I suppose one could say I still use it to play dress-up!

6. What are you most excited to wear this fall?

My black leather jacket by For Joseph and the new brown riding boots that I haven't bought yet, but plan to buy very soon!

7. What's your beauty secret weapon?

I get my hair done at an amazing salon in LA called B2V, but also, I'm currently obsessed with this hair product called Berber Oil.  I have a lot of hair and it does an amazing job at smoothing and taming it throughout the day.  My favorite way to use it is after I curl my hair, I brush it out, then use about a quarter size of the oil to help smooth and separate the waves.
