Sidewalk Chic: Subtly Seventies at the Wharf

By

Name: Aimee Fountain

Age: 28

Occupation: Adjunct Professor of English

Spotted:7x7Best Of party at Ghirardelli Square, 8:23 p.m.

Wearing: Tracy M. top, Twenty8Twelve Jeans, vintage knit bolero, Zigi flats

Currently reading, watching, listening to: "Reading The Rachel Papers by Martin Amis (it's making me super neurotic), watching Arrested Development all the way through for the second time and listening to Grizzly Bear, Passion Pit, Italo Disco and a lot of '60s Top 40 hits."

What is your most cherished item? "A smoky topaz ring that I bought in Buenos Aires a couple of years ago and which stands about 2 centimeters from the top of my finger! It is special because it was my first jewelry splurge. I couldn't really afford it then and it's really really old: about 150! A lot of the silver work is fading in detail."

If you could have one thing this season, what would it be? "As far as this season goes I don't really follow what is happening in the fashion world, so I can't name a particular piece that I'm interested in. I am saving up for a new black leather bag that I can carry every day and a series of gold chains, ranging from delicate to Mr. T."

What does style mean to you? "Style is anti-formulaic and is best expressed in people who know what suits their shapes and who are daring in their choices, but look comfortable wearing them."

Why we love her look: Fountain spruced up her wardrobe staples with a vintage striped bolero resulting in an effortlessly cool '70s-inspired ensemble.
