Southern and Central California Wineries to Spend the Night

Southern and Central California Wineries to Spend the Night

Accommodations at wineries; it's not exactly that novel of a concept, yet it's not something you see much of in California. While we recently featured Northern California wineries where you can spend the night, today we feature Southern and Central California wineries with accommodations.

1. JUSTIN Vineyards and Winery, Paso Robles. Located just outside of Paso Robles, JUSTIN Vineyards and Winery strikes a balance between rustic and luxury, providing an ambiance you might expect from a European winery, yet one you can experience in Central California. The inn features several suites, each with a different European name and style. Amenities include in-room massages, heated pool and spa, on-site restaurant, and 20% discount on room rates for wine society members. You can even bring your dog–JUSTIN Vineyards and Winery is dog-friendly.

2. Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa, Los Olivos. Yes, that Fess Parker, the same one who portrayed two of the most famous pioneers, Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. Spend enough time here and you may even notice it as one of the featured wineries in the movie Sideways. And spend some time here is what you'll want to do with rooms that feature cozy beds and fireplaces and amenities that include a complimentary full American breakfast, complimentary bottle of wine, and complimentary wine tasting.

3. Ponte Family Estate, Temecula. While you may hear a variety of comments about Temecula wine, it's hard to beat the location, as it's a short drive from Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs, and San Diego. Ponte Family Estate is unique in that it offers more room options than most, with 60 rooms that overlook the vineyards. Also of note is that it's a AAA Four Diamond Property.

4. Inn at Churon Winery, Temecula. For no bigger then the Temecula wine region is, it offers many different accommodation options, such as the Inn at Churon Winery. While the region may feel very Californian, the accommodations themselves feel very French, from the chateau's exterior to French doors that open out to your own terrace or balcony. Amenities include in-room gas fireplace, gourmet breakfast, and evening wine hour.
